Default Those JDM Engines of Ebay Questions

Alright im thinking of buying a jdm d15 vtec engine of ebay, because their only about 300$ for everything except tranny and all the stuff i already have which is less expensive then replacing all my rings and doing all that work for.

Right now i have stock d15b7 engine non vtec and it has everything wrong with the head and block.. "smokes, leaks, ect"

So questions are:

*Are these good engines, im plannin on getting one says only 27k miles on them
*What kinda of ECU would i need
*What other things would i need since its "jdm"

It is true, you get what you pay for chief.

I'm sure there is a good mix out there of good and bad sellers but if you have a problem you just bought it because you have no recourse other than Ebay feedback, whoopie. If the motor has issues are you going to ship it back?...no! So you just got stuck with someone elses problem. That you now have to fix because, "when it left our shop it was fine, call the shipper" and now your getting a great run around.

PS: you could probably get a D16 VTEC locally for cheap, just a thought

and having 3 d15b7 heads.. this engine will only cost me around 100$ out of my pocket after selling these heads..

anyone have any feedback on those jdm engines from ebay??

I've bought several motors off of E-bay and I have never had a problem. I have used two different sellers ( but I always use them only), just check all there feedback and if they have little or no feedback for motors stay away, a little research goes a long way

Only if you jump off a bridge.

I would agree about getting what you paid for and for somthing like a motor i'd try to aviod ebay.

I myself had a hassle with the top rated *on HT* swap place Hmotorsonline. I would only and will only from now on get motors locally.

Many many other people have got great stuff from Hmotors they just were dicks to me so I never will buy from them.
