Ok well I got another set of stock wheels just last week. Put them on the R and my god...............there is less than 2mm between the rim spokes and the calipers. I mean I know they fit, but the clearance is too close for comfort. I cant even fit a toothpick through..............
So my question is for all of you running the Spoons with stock wheels have there been any issues running the wheels so close to the caliper? Or should I just use my spacer and add 5 mm of clearance?
I drove it fine for a coupe days, but im thinking at HPDE when my Azenis start melting up, the rubber will get stuck in between and melt. Maybe I'm just paranoid but I'm wondering if you all have the same concerns.
I know a lot of poeple run like this, but is everyones this close??? I seriously cant fit a toothpick between the caliper and spokes....I dont think my rims are bent or anything like that. Gunmetal ITR rims with new Azenis for 500 cash equals yay ToO MeEh!!!!!

if you have the spacers, i would run it...
wider track up front = teh win!
the only downside would be loosing a few threads when tightening down the lugnuts

fwiw, I never had a problem running spoon calipers on stock wheels with azenis at hpde's.....
But there was at least 1mm iirc with stock itr wheels.....! If you can't get a toothpick in there, you definitely have a problem.....

just make sure you 100% all of the time, as much of pain in the *** it could be, make sure your lug nuts are properly torqued down every 2-3 days or so.
and if your lugnuts are somewhat old, switch them out for a brand new set

My wheel spacing is very similar to BlackR's.
If you want to see my spoon calipers/wheels in person and you're back in the bay area, let me know.

Having said all of the above; would I have any problems with the sp00n klappers on a 15x7 +43offset ce28 rim? I wouldn't think so being that the stocker is +50 and 6.5width.
Just though I'd ask.

damn n00bs!!!
-stocker is 15x6 not 15x6.5
-its a combination of the offset and the shape/angle of the spokes that determine if it will clear the sp00ms
- iirc, the 15x7 CE28N +43 will clear
- send me your CEs and i'll test them for you
