Get an air/fuel guage. There are a lot of ways to check. You can check your plugs for a start.

white = lean
black/wet = rich
(most honda's idle lean though)
smell the exhaust if it smells a lot like fuel you're rich.

plug electrodes should look like coffee with cream. The base ring should have a thin layer of carbon all the way around, with no buildup anywhere on the unit.

Rich = smells like mad fuel, gas runs out quick...car doesnt feel like its moving when you do a full throttle...etc. Couple things...Im no pro, but my car is currently runing too damn rich and in the middle of tuning it right now.

I have a queston, I just put in new plugs like a week ago and there is already carbon buildup on the second day of running them. Is that normal? This is on a d16z6.

Carbon build up should be fine...if you see fuel in there, then thats a no no.
