Default helicoiled???

Alright,

Long story short, my car had the h23 tensioner on it when i bought the car, so i never fooled with it until last week when i had to tighten it up. Well the belt came loose shortly after tightening so i parked the car for a few days until i had time to check it out. Well i still dont kno why it came loose again but when i removed the tensioner this time out came the helicoil someone had already put there, but since i cant find my helicoil installer tool for the size i have i cant put a new one back, but my question is, will it be safe and reliable by installing a new helicoil or do i need to figure something else out?

Sounds shitty..........I would get a new block personally and that bolt should never be very tight anyways. If you can't break it loose with a regular 6 sided closed end wrench it's too tight. I know that doesn't help much but I kinda hate heilicoiled parts. You could have it welded shut and then retap it as well. It would be expensive. Ever done a leak down check on the motor? Might wanna have one done it may help you decide if the motor is worth keeping anyways

I just Helicoiled the three bolt from the drivers side mount (the ones in the block) and hopefully they will stay there. But I can say that the helicoils are harder that the normal threads. I like it.

IMHO...I would drill and re-tap the hole with a slightly larger bolt size--assuming the tensioner will allow a larger bolt.
