Differences between base and Type-S?

Roughly the same torque, but...

Much higher redline, closer gear ratios, different sway bars, maybe different spring/damper rates (I honestly don't know, though), bigger brakes, different intake manifold, etc etc...

Really, they're two very different cars. The base RSX, like my '02 Civic Si, is a fun, capable commuter that can still be tweaked into becoming very fun to drive. The singing engine of the Type-S, along with its other adjustments, makes it a fast machine that loves to be driven hard.

I don't think that it's a waste of time to mod a base model. If it weren't for the existence of the type-s, people wouldn't rag on it so much.

the major differences are the head, oil squirters in the block, stronger parts in the block, tranny

pretty much, the k20a2 has MUCH more potential than a k20a3.

take it from me, a very regretful base rsx owner

I had a Type-S before and recently drove a base. The Type-S was more fun.

As far as what exhaust to get, you'll get almost every brand & model in answers from the rest of us.

That being said, I really like my Fujitsubo RM-01A...

Better engine. Yes.

Also the interior should come in leather and with a Bose audio system. The front lip and side skirts are color matched, as well as the front and rear windshield water squirters.

I suggest the Fujitsubo Powergetter for an exhaust

the base sucks *** and is automatic and gay and is a really really big waste of money.

differnet motor. 6 spd tranny. bigger front brakes. slightly stiffer springs( i think)

then theres hte aesthetic differences as mentioned by 02rsx-s.

it also has a stock front strut tower bar. now it also has bigger wheels.
