Need advice for H22
ok i own a GSR but my friend owns a 92 Accord LXI. he wants to do an engine swap and so far from what i'm reading the H22a is the way to go for accords. i just want to know what year prelude, what ECU and will it bolt right in or do the engine mounts have to be changed. any advice will be appreciated. TIA
no need for new engine mounts. motor will drop right in without anything. youll need motor, tranny, axles, ecu, and wiring harness if it is jdm. you can use your accord harness adn add the vtec wires if you want. relatively an easy swap. to keep AC and PS, you have to use the brackets and pumps from your accord motor

The stock mount is a 'softer' design for a smoother idle or whatever. Its draw back is driveline loss. With a simple thing as a solid rear mount, you may put down like 2 more ponies to the wheels.

why not use the stock rear mount?? i did and thats the only mount that did not crack. i had to get a new drivers side and front one. just wondering

and gennady, where did you get your hp figure from?
ok so some say to change the mounts and some say to use the stock. also some say to change the axles and some say you can use stock. does anyone know of a website that i can check out. thanks for the replys, but you guys are confuseing me.
For a h22 swap in any 4th gen accord.
You use Accord axles.
Motor drops right in without any mount adjustments, however if you feel the need to change any mounts you can do so at will.
Use prelude Ecu (ODB I), accord wiring harness with vtech wires being added from the solenoid to the ecu.
If the motor is past 95 then you will need a 92 to 95 distributor for conversion to ODB I.
Other than that everything is fairly simple. I might be selling my engine with all the works for $4,100.. Still not sure yet. But its a Type S with 32k miles on it. Act Extreme Street clutch, clutchmasters flywheel, LSD tranny, 1998 engine with of course red valve cover, distributor already added on.
Good place for other engine prices is http://www.jdmclub.com

3 wires needed to be added to prelude ecu. vtec solenoid wire, vtec pressure switch, and knock sensor wire.
to the axle thing, i used custom accord axles from raxles, but 4doorh22 has said he used 4th gen lude axles. im not sure about that though, he hasnt answered my previous post about this. reason is, the prelude outer joint thread is smaller than the accord hub it should go into. therefore the axle would spin inside the hub. trust me ive tried using 4th gen lude axles, they dont work. just wanted to make sure 4door was sure about his 4th gen lude axles.
