Default ls motor with itr pistons?

What all do I need to run ITR pistons in my all motor LS? I have a full crower valvetrain and a stock bottom end. The head was decked 20 thousandth's but I will be running a stock, 3-layer head gasket. Can I still utilize my LS crank/rods or will I have to swap them as well. Also, is the bore of the ls and ITR pistons the same?

Thanks for the space

ive got the parts to run the same set up.. LS bottom end with ITR pistons, and P72 head with ITR cams, and upgraded valvetrain will it put out some good numbers?

I'm pretty sure Gsr pistons are a direct swap, I don't think itr pistons are much different.

Other then compression and such of course.

P30's, PR3's, and CTR/PCT's are direct swaps onto LS rods. EDIT: I have been corrected below--The CTR pistons also need modification to the LS rod or piston to fit. The GSR, ITR's need to have slight modification to the piston or LS rods to make fit, any machine shop should be able to do the work. I believe this info is correct, but do some more research to confirm.

And yes, an LSVTEC with raised compression and ITR cams tuned will pull some good numbers.

I don't think he said it was vtec

Anyway theres a site that will tell you your compression with your setup
+++search honda compression calculater+++
My guess is with milled head and ctr pistons your going to be higher than you want, but if you combine (lightcar+high octane+tuning) you can get away with it. I have 10 to 1 and get away with 87 oct in an rs. Try running a really thin head gasket with stock pistons and get it running as good as you can first. I have a 30thous milled with just i/h/e and it does effect (a little) the cam timing. So if it's a little slugish down low thats why. But if you run an extra thick head gasket then you'll be closer to your stock timing. So what you you want to buy cam gears or some b16a b16b b18c pistons?

Actually the CTR/ITR pistons require modification to fit the LS rods, the PR3/P30/P61 are all interchangeable without modifications. To the OP, that was my planned setup (ITR pistons, LS all motor) until I decided to buy a P72 head .. hehe. But all you need to do is have a shop shave the rod (or piston if they choose) to fit, and make sure to swap in some ARP rod bolts while you're at it (re-size the big-bore end of the rods as well), and you should be good to go. Don't forget to clay the motor to double-check valve-piston clearances, but you should be ok with the ITR pistons.

EDIT: for cams look into either Rocket's cams, or http://www.coltcams.com.

As others have stated, you will need to machine the small end of the rod a bit to fit into the ITR piston (thats the way we did it) or you could open up the piston for the larger RS rod to go into. Its a whole lot simpler to machine the rod though. Just have a reputable machine shop do it for you.

I dont know about CTR pistons, but I can say with 100% certainty (the car is in the garage) that the ITR pistons fit on the LS rods with a slight machining (narrowing) of the small end of the rods.

Sam92Teg has editted his posting and thinks the CTR is the same???

do CTR instead... you won't have to modify anything.

Unless arw321 is hallucinating, I'm pretty sure you have to machine the B18A/B rods for the CTRs to fit as well. Evidence:

Eagle rods have a different type of pin setup, they use retaining clips. You will either need alot of machining on the CTR's to fit or better yet, just buy an aftermarket piston which won't be that much more money after all is said and done.
