confused about HID for sedan (searched)
im looking to put some HIDs on my 88 4dr. its got the stock headlights in it right now. My questions is which kit do it choose (9005 or 9006) and how do i wire it up? My main concern is the wiring because i really dont want to mess anything up and toast anything. Also someone here on H-T mentioned something about switching out the fuses under the dash from 10 to 30 because of the new kit, is that true? I've seen the DIY in the FAQs which was very helpful but it really didn't show any of the wiring which sucks. So if any of you can help me out then that would be great. I've searched this but it really didnt answer all my questions.
thanks
thanks
if i'm not mistaken, you should buy a 9006 kit.
9005 is high beams.
the plug is different. if you are buying a plug n' play kit, than i would suggest you pick up an additional wire relay harness as that will save your factory harness cause you'll get the power from the battery rather than straight from the plugs.
i use to have hids in my 90 si h/b but i had projectors so i used h1 bulbs instead.
but nevertheless its still the same concept.
if you hvae any futher questions feel free to IM me or i'll check back on the forums.

First off, don't go switching fuses around. That's a guaranteed way to burn up your wiring. Bigger fuses let more electricity run through a skinny wire, thus melting it.
As far as deciding about whether you need 9006 or 9005, you really need to do some research. Your choices include..
1. HID Kit (Plug and Play or integrated kit)
2. Housings (oem headlamps, retrofit, aftermarket projectors)
3. If doing retrofit, you'll need the according style bulb
Here's a link that might help.

If u want a correct setup will cost u around 600-700 bucks.
I did one and it not cheap. You have to buy aftermaket headlights with clear glass. Dremil etc..
It took me nearly a month to get it setup correctly..
dremil cost me 100 not some cheap ****..
headlights were 100
bulbs, ballasts, projectors were 350
Wiring Paint glue etc.. another 50bucks..
the output cannot be beat. much better then the stock headlight 10x times. Retro is the only way to go. If done correctly it will last longer and plus its a lot safer when driving at night which is worth every penny.

What you need is the 9006 kit . It is for your low beams which you will be using while driving.
Get a plug and play HID kit, no you do not have to cut wires, especially not with McCulluch's
HID kits sell for great prices on Ebay.

Hey im' here to help you man so go crazy and ask me whatever yout want. From people say, McCulluch's is a upperclass brand in HID conversions. I did alot of research and talking to HID sales people, and found a company on Ebay called Concept Desingz. They sell HID kits made by a company called NFA new focus always. The cost was pretty good for me, cosidering I'm canadian so i get charGED BIG ON SHIPPING, CURRENCY CONVERSION, DUTY (WHICH IS EXPLETIVE). I had they're kit for 7 months so far, I baby my HID's and have had no problems.
here is a link to the seller on Ebay.

My suggestion to you, check out who's selling McCulluch's on honda-tech.com appearnce seller forum. For americans the shipping is great price. Or if you wanna save some more see who else is selling HID's at a lower price on EBAY.

Not a fan of hid kit. They produce so much glare. I was on the otherside of the freeway, this esclade had a kit light was everywhere. It was blind as hell. And look into doing a retro fit. It will be worth it in the end. Probably cost another 350-400.
hey rauz_Si, i appreciate your help and is there any possibility that you can post some pics of your HIDs because i might buy some from the link on ebay that you have me. thanks.
has anyone used this, if so how is it? hows the quality? i know its fairly cheap so i was kind of shakey on it. thanks.
