Default Lights Comin on all the time

I have a 92 SR and was wonderinf if anyne else has had problems with lights comin on for no reason! Alright for starters my "BRAKE LAMP" light comes on at random times...usually when I switch out of park...this usually means that I have a tail light out but theyre all just fine...honda tech's looked at it and are confused as me.....any suggestions? Second!...when I "give'r" a little bit accelerate hard my engine light comes on....I shut the car off no problem its gona untill i accelerate hard again...again honda techs totally lost ....I NEED HELP! Thanks in advance!

First. Pull the code.
Second - you have a short to voltage. Check your brake switch and all that.
If you need the ecu codes, just let me know and I'll hook u up.

I have the same brake lamp light that comes on...if I start the car without touching the brake...it will not be on until i hit the brake. then it stays on till i shut it off and repeat the steps.

go to autozone they will scan it for free, or you can use a jumper wire on the Diagnostic port under the dash on the passenger's side behind the panel.

i would beg to differ. i have had mine scanned for free there about 6 times in the last 3 weeks due to my unexplained misfire issue. even my shop (Hondamans) will run the normal scantool for free, just that they are farther away. the Teledyne diagnostic still costs tho, but that's a little more time consuming.

that said maybe autozones differ in other areas.

They must differ from location to location. I have been in the parts business for three years now and everyone comes to me to check their imports. They always tell me that autozone won't check it. Maybe they're just lazy? Good info to know. Thanks!

the autozone here wont scan obd1 for some reason (i think) something about obd1 and autozonbe dont mix i know that much

yeah it is ONLY obd2 i know that. alot of places here are doing it for free now, just for the basic one tho.
