Default ipod without a radio?

hi, i'm new to this board

anyways... i have this friend who has a 93 honda accord. her radio has been stolen twice so she wanted to know if there was a way to just use the cords that woud have gone into the radio in order to connect an ipod to her speakers. can she just use the cables that are sticking out or does she need to go through some kind of head unit/radio?

thanks in advance

They make some sort of signal deal where you can use your stock radio i think. My lil bro friend had it in his geo. Im not sure what its called though.

If there was an amplifier installed (and probably hidden) in the car it would be probable. But the iPod alone doesn't have enough power to push 4 speakers.

They are trying to bypass the radio and just hook the iPod directally to the speakers. Hence my earlier suggestion...

her ipod wouldnt put out the power necessary unless she set up an amp as well which would make the wiring even more complicated, there MIGHT be a way but i doubt you can go from the harness to an ipod by any easy means.

You could hook up the speakers to an amp, and have the RCA go to the ipod that has an audio cable (to plugs like the RCA) but this might prove to to be a big pain in the *** if you need to split it twice for four speakers

I'd say have the head unit pro installed so itd be harder to take out or have her take the faceplate with her whenever she goes somewhere in the city
