Default What is this and is it needed?!

Ive got a 98 Civic Coupe(2dr) and i took the backseats out and im working on stripping out the interior, and i cam across this.. theres one on each side and im wondering if its needed or can i take it off with no worries?

I removed them from my ek and the car started to creek and make noises after 2 days so I put them back in. Learn from my experience, and leave them in, Honda put them in for a reason.

with a rear strut tower brace you shouldnt notice a differance without them. they are just for support at the quarter panels.

I had a rear strut tower brace on mine(mugen) and it still made weird noises when driven hard.

ill get a C-Pillar then, so should make it back to normal

They are there for chassis reinforcement. The extra stiffness and support never hurts. If it were drag only, it might save a pound or 2 to take them out.

i say use a 1" hole saw, drill some holes in it to make it look better then paint it a differant color to add some contrast.

Leave them in, it's not worth the squeeking unless you you have and additional support. besides that 1 bar that you already have.

No it wont. Those bars set up a little triangulation point right there, and unless you put in a cage, no bolt in monkey bars on the market will be able to replace those.
