Default I stand corrected

We had a debate about Honda having an induction service kit. I said there wasn't and asked the person to find the can and give a picture of it.
Well I found it myself at Honda School this week...

I was wrong.

Well what it boils down to is i'm man enough to admit if i'm proven wrong. I even saw a bulliten from 1985 that applies to all Honda's to use it if the car won't start due to carbon on the valves.

Does the stuff actually work? When would you suggest using it? Would the engine have to be at the point of not starting?

I havn't used it yet because I just found it today because i'm in Honda school all week. But as soon as I get back to my dealer i'm going to order a can and the attachment and then i'll check it out.
From what others have said it works pretty darn good. Now that I see Honda endorses it i'll give it a shot.
I'll even post the part numbers as soon as I look at the can again.

Yes, I've used it many times during my career; and it does work. It will also decarbon Combustion Chambers, free up stuck rings and clean the back and stem of the Intake valves. All depends on how it's applied and for how long it's allowed to work.

One observation: Paint will not tolerate it so cover up sensitive areas (Fenders etc) before use.

Yeah I had oil getting up in the runners on my intake and P suggested I use that stuff to free up my stuck rings. And It worked really well.I let it soak for a little over htree hours.
And as soon as I drove the car I could tell the differance.
I didn't tell my girlfriend she the regular driver and when she came home after driving it she said the car runs alot better today.
I never would have thought something like that would work.

I can say for a fact Honda will not endorse anything that would damage the car.

I searched for this stuff and i guess the only place you can get it is at the dealer right? How much does it cost? I recently cleaned my EGR ports and have been having some trouble starting up when the car is cold. Could this be a carbon build up prob on my valves?
