Default Gasket Prep??!!??!!

im going to put on my gaskets tonite and was wondering if i need to prep them in any way. like with oil, hondadbond, etc.
they are the valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket and 4 spark plug gaskets.
i have some generic hondabond from a parts store that im gonna use. i know i need this on the valve cover gasket(BTW how muchand where, all around?) but do i need this on the oil gasket? do i prep them with oil?

For the valve cover gasket you put a dab on each of the 4 corners..For the oil pan gasket I dont use any at all and theres been no leaks..Just make sure to tq the bolts within spec..I didnt use any on the o-rings either..No leaks..

Go to hondahookup.com and download the sevice manual for your car,,Its got all the tq numbers and patterns to tighten those bolts..

on the oil pan you are supposed to put hondbond on the 4 corners where the block meet the plates that have the seal in them, ie,. rear main oil seal plate, and the front plate. (you can see the seam)

I used some "mr. gasket" I think, I applied it where ever the gasket was going to be. I have also used some blue rtv silicon. Never had a problem with a leak or anything like that. As far as prep work goes, Make sure the surface is really clean. I used a razor blade to scrap off all the old glue, then took some carb cleaner with a rag and scrubbed off all the residue from the glue.

9ft lbs there is a special order you need to do them in. and you need to torque them in 3 steps ie,. 3ft ft lbs the first round, then 6 ft lbs, then on the final circle 9 ft lbs

^^ what is the red arrow for? It shows the sequence as middle two going across the pan, then right two going across, then left two going across, for the initial 6 bolts.

yea if you notice it says to tighten those 6 bolts first finger tight, then to torque the rest clockwise in 3 steps
