Default Zex, header, exhaust cut out

This is kind of a multi step question.... I plan on installing a zex dry kit on my 01 GSR this spring. I do not want to get an exhaust on my car because i like the stock look and sound, but i do plan to get an exhaust cutout so i can open it when i go to the track or when i spray.

My question is does the Zex kit use either of the O2 sensors to monitor A/F ratio? I am trying to figure out where i need to put the cut out at and still use the Zex fuel enrichment system to the fullest.

Im thinking that the cutout will probably go right before the catalytic converter, what size is the stock piping here? The smallest cutout made by the company that i want to buy from is 2.25" will this work... Also would it be beneficial to upgrade header or since the exhaust gases are only traveling such a short distance would it not be worth it. Keep in mind, when i say beneficial i mean with the cutout open.

any help will be greatly appreciated...

So you want to put a cutout before the cat? Doesn't a gsr header connect directly to the cat with no piping in between?

Yes they do, so in order for a Cutout to be put BEFORE the cat, you need to MOVE the cat back further.

What you could do in this situation is buy a 94-99 GSR header, the Cutout and a 94-99 GSR Cat. You will need to have a muffler shop do some welding but then both of your O2 sensors will screw into the Cat itself and you can put your Cutout before the cat. You still may need to have some of your exhaust removed but only enough to fit the cutout.

ok.. what about if the cutout is after the cat... will this hinder the performance or will it still be pretty efficient...
