Default E-Brake warning light doesn't come on?

my e-brake light doesn't work on my dash. I pull the e-brake up and nothing happens. I checked the fuse and they are all ok and I even tested the switch to see if it was working . The bulb inside the cluster also works but where does the e-brake wire run to? I think there is a positive current that connects to it. Please help I been trying to figure this out for a while.

its negative switched to ground, wire contacts a small metal bracket that touchs the body

check to make sure there are no opens in the wire from the cluster to the switch, get an ohm meter
