Default 2005 Accord Coupe 4cyl; panel removal?

Hi guys, I've browsed and read these forums for a bit but I just decided to sign up today. I guess I wont be posting much seeing as there's this Trial User status thing, but I hope that this becomes one of my regularly checked forums.

I have a ton of questions about my (somewhat) new car, but I'll try to only post a few as to not flood you guys on my first day.

I'm really into custom interior lighting, neons, LEDs, all that ricey stuff, and before I do any performance-based mods I'm getting all of the rice out of my system. I've been able to figure out how to take most of the panels out of the car to get behind them, but there's one thing I can't figure out how to remove; the center console box that's right below the stereo and right above the change tray/main 12v electrical outlet. Can anybody explain how to get back there without completely destroying my dash?

I've been looking into getting a Cold Air Intake, but all the ones I've found are either horribly expensive (way more than it should cost, I'm talking $500+) or don't have a slot for a MAF sensor. Would you recommend building my own as a temporary solution, and, if so, out of what material?

Lastly, how bad is it for the transmission to drive my auto somewhat like a manual? As long as I shift at the proper RPMs, is it okay? I like to start in first and shift up all the way to drive because I'm a loser and like to feel like I'm a racecar driver.

Thanks in advance for any and all answers.

Ahh heck i guess i'll help anyway.
1. pop off the trim around your shifter by opening the change tray and the acessory outlet, grab the trim and pull up
2. remove the change tray itself by poping it out with a small screwdriver.
3. there are two screws under that, take those out and pull the change tray out
4. there are two more screws at the bottom of the storage pocket. then that pulls straight out with the door CLOSED.
good luck and hope you can take a verbal lashing or two...

Flamed? Why, because I used a happy face, or because I asked stupid questions?

If it's because of trolls or something, bring 'em on.

If you plan to keep your car for a while, I suggest getting yourself a service manual. It has more information than you can shake a stick at (how the get that box out under the dash. Helminc.com has the Factory Honda Manual. I think it's about $70. Well worth the money. Link below. Happy Hondaing

You said that, that word "r***". Nobody likes that word around here.

Just my opinion. Leave it stock, and well maintained. Opinions vary widely, as you will see.
