Default Help! I have a short

i think.. i bought a 2000 prelude sh and after bring it home, it wouldnt start. i work at an autozone, so i bought a new battery at work and threw it in. i then left the car for about 36 hours and when i tried to start it agian it was dead again. i have traced the drain to the clock/radio circuit which also controls or powers the interior light and door lock circuit. anyways, i gutted the car its down to the dash and 1 seat everything else is bare. the car standing draws 66.4 miliamps with the megaplex controller plugged in(in passenger kickpanel) and 17.4 with it unplugged. is my box fried or is this normal?

you neglected to state whether it ran after putting in a new battery...before you let it sit.

slammed..thanks but i dont think i can afford their rates..thats last ditch

sober: yeah it ran fine, alternator at 14.3 volts, diode pattern fine, battery to 11.3 under load..i hit this car with everything i can think of

but now im thinking i have a shorted switch that was removed when i gutted it..66 miliamps is nothing basically, and i metered the amp draw on my friends 03 or 04 pilot and that was pulling 93 miliamps...
