Bye bye parts car!
For those who have read my previous posts about the trials and tribulations of my CRX, I have some good news! I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance with Gieco! LOL! Sorry, had to put that in there.
Anyways, Got word last week that my dad's friend Frank is in fact able to work on cars in his driveway, just not after a certain time is all. This past Saturday, my dad borrowed the humongous flatbed and its driver from his work and they came and picked up the parts CRX from the Poconos, PA and the good CRX from northern NJ and brought them to Frank's house. Once there, it took Frank and his brother little time to pull out the engine from the parts CRX. Before they did that though they called the local junkyard to come pick up the pillaged and plundered shell. Flatbed arrived just as they were finishing I was told! The engine from the good CRX was then pulled and then replaced just as quicky. After wiring everything up, and starting the CRX, a knocking was noticed. Perhaps there was more internal damage than we thought. Call my dad today and find out the oil pan had received major damage as well as the oil pump. Oil pump and pan are to be replaced today. Other than getting the engine up and running, wheel cylinders need to be replaced and brake pads and shoes replaced as well. Hopefully I'll have my car by this weekend! Wish me luck! Here are some pics of the parts car before it was hauled away.
Interior shot with cracked and/or crappy parts not worth taking
Trim, speakers, dash, cluster, tail lights, misc.
Doors, panels and glass, hatch, rear interior plastic, hood

Engine. Yes, it's a crappy D15B2. MPFI to come in the near future.

Locking it down!

Bye Bye!! It's been a blast!

Wow there is a ton of stuff in that still worth pulling. DrDisco69 and I would have had that baby clean before we sent it off.
Good luck with the project.

CRX Toad and rsca_crx: I didn't have time to get everything out. I had 2-3 hours to pull all that I could. I wish I had more time. Plus it was too cold to work on the car when it was sitting in my driveway the past several weeks. If I had more time and warmer weather, I would've stripped her bare! As for where she is now, I believe she's in a junkyard somewhere in Elizabeth, NJ.
Here is my parts car before it headed to be crushed and put out of its misery
I took off all of the suspension the steering rack both front fenders the doors hood front bumper all lights front and rear the rear hatch the steering column cluster hvac unit really anything that I could possibly use in my H4 build.

As much as I wanted to take the hub caps and keep em for my car, there was only one. And she really wasn't my baby. After my running CRX stopped running mid-December, I saw this torino red one sitting in the parking lot of a bodyshop. It had been driven over an embankment and down a ravine resulting in frame and body damage to the driver's side. I bought it for the engine and any usable parts I needed to replace on my CRX.

CRX_1.8T *& rookie_ricer,
The car is not driveable. There was considerable frame damage on the drivers side after the original owner drove it over an embankment and down a ravine. If it was driveable, I would have 2 CRXs in my driveway!

Good to see "progress"..... No really happy to see you have you old baby up and running agian. You dont happen to want to trade your rear gate for a white one by chance? I have a white one on my red car.
All my fingers were sore for the rest of the day! Thanks for asking! LOL! Also I ripped my pants on a broken headlight when I was taking off the hood so I was kinda pissed about that! And now I'm regretting not taking more from the car like suspension, AC/heater stuff under the dash, etc. Oh well...
I am looking for a couple exterior pieces on the driver side if you have any that you would be interested in selling. I am looking for the "door sash" you know the plastic pillar cover, and the "lower door garnish" the black plastic piece on the bottom of the driver side door. An ashtray would be great too! lol If you have any of this stuff for sell could you e-mail me "wsreggsandbacon@yahoo.com" I haven't quite firgured out this site yet.
