Default DX weigh's in 284 pounds less than the Si

Wow, I couldnt believe how much more the Si weigh's. My reason for this is that a guy @ a local shop was trying to sell me some Neuspeed spings for my Si. He told me that they are for all 06 Civic's including the Si. Then I did my homework and saw that pretty big weight difference and went with the Tein S Tech's(for the 06 SI).

Unless you're thinking gas mileage!

There are a bunch of differences in the two cars from the DX and the SI. The suspension points are different for one. They are moved on the SI for better handling also there is more chassis strengthening in the SI than the DX. If you plan on making a DX into an SI you really can't. Honda put a lot of effort into the SI when they built it.

By the time you try putting a K motor in your car, your going to weight almost the same as a SI and still not have all the features as a SI

I believe that Si models have always weighed more than the DX trim. Although not on such a great scale as this... It's the price you pay for getting the top-of-the-line model w/ the best resale value.

I'd add AC and Sunroof as two other significant contributors...probably at least 100 lbs between the two, leaving 40lbs for suspension and electronics which seems more reasonable.

Between the EX 5 speed and the Civic SI there is 176 pounds difference. So the K20z3,6 speed tranny and suspension make up the 176 pounds.
