Electronic VSS
I installed an integra type-r gauge cluster in my car. everything works great except that i cannot get the speedo to work and my ecu keeps pulling a vss code. now I searched the topic and people say to split the wire and to have one wire to go the b16 pin at the ecu and the other go to the gauge cluster. i guess this is my question. the crx has a wire coming out of the ecu that goes straight to the gauge cluster so i have that hooked up to the wire at the gauge cluster and all i did was splice into the middle of that wire with the signal wire from the e-vss but it does not work. do i have to split the wire and lead it to the ecu and gauge cluster seperatley or is osmething else wrong?

the signal wire that comes out of the vss gets connected to the orange wire (pin b6) and also to pin b11 (if memory serves me right).
on my gsr cluster the cable in pin b11 is black and yellow but yours may be different.
so, basically you can split the signal wire in two and wire it like this OR instead of wiring it to pin b11, wire it to pin b16 at the ECU.

I did that but when I wired it up everyone said poiwer signal ground. but it ended up being ground power signal. maybe try that. Or it might be ground power signal. But try both because that is what the helms says for the vss
take the vss out of the car and hold it in your hand hook the signal wire to the vss and the other side to a multi meater and the other side of the meeter should go to +12v then the other 2 connections on the vss go to pwr and gnd spinn the vss with your hand and the meeter should pulse 5v if notits connected wrong and you need to hook it up a diff way OH YA SET THE MEETER TO THE 12v SCALE

my particular vss didn't come with the harness so i basically made my own. the majority of the write-ups i've seen say that the wires are as follow. if you are looking at the plug with the snap facing AWAY from you it goes...power, signal, ground. however many people have found that this order does not work for them for whatever reason. if you are one of those people then instead try wiring it...signal, power, ground. hope that helps.
