What does the heat shield and air ducting for a short ram require?

What does the heat shield and air ducting for a short ram require?
I heard of this setup in another post and since I am back to short ram now I was wondering about it. What exactly is required to do it? I'm thinking I could fiqure out how to do the ducting from the fender, but what all is required to make a functional heat shield?
Have also thought about making a shield that would completely surround the intake piping and become sealed when the hood is closed. Would this work or would this cause the heat to be worse since it would be trapped? Maybe I could duct the heat from that towards the windshield. Any comments or pics would be helpful.
