the z6 will bolt right in
being you are already mpfi you wont have to wory about converting from dpfi to mpfi
you will need a ob0->ob1 conversion harness
obd1 sohc distributor
p28 ecu
4 wire o2 sensor

rywire
^they have the conversion harness, o2 sensor, and ecu for sale (sorry but i think you can find a used dizzy alot cheaper than that, i found one for $40)

I will eventually change the tranny, but i dont have the cash right now to do it. Will the y8 bolt right in? Will it run alright without the 4 wire o2 sensor?

the y8 will bolt right up... with out the 4 wire o2 sensor it will not have vtec but it will still run

there is other ways of controling vtec but converting to obd1 is the best way
