If you guys are interested I can probably get some 4.77s for considerably cheaper then hardtop guy or ricks.....I got the hook ups.

I already bought a set for myself, but I'm sure I can get more.

Anyone can get the 4.77's, 4.44's, and possibly the 4.3's for cheap.

4.77's come out of the front axle of the Kia Sportage, the 4.44's come out of the rear of a Mazda B400, and the 4.3's come out of a Miata.

I got my 4.77's for $120 shipped from a parts yard with less than 100 miles on the whole diff. I still have to break the ring and pinion in!!!

All this info is covered extensively on S2Ki...so I'm not going to repeat any of the details regarding year of cars, etc. here.

The only ones that aren't found cheap (unless someone sells a used set), are the 4.56's, and the 4.57's).

Luder is right. Some people dont want used gears however. I don't really care either way.

alright I'm bringing this thread back from the dead, I need the info on the kia 4.77 gears...I need a set, I can't see paying $600 + for a ring and pinion, they are cheap as **** for any other car, I think its bullshit they are just marking up prices because its a $30-some-000 sports car.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, I went to kia today and I got a part number for the front and rear diff's out of a kia sportage, 1995. but they didn't have the gears in stock to look at , I know I'm looking for a 43 tooth ring gear and a 9 tooth pinion, and I'm assuming the gear is 7 inches? correct?

anybody who can help me out it would be much appreciated thanks!

I would also like to know about the Kia 4.77's, I tried searching on s2ki, but as usual the search function is fucked up. Have you got anymore information on which year sportage they come out of?

Ok, it seems alot of RX-7 guys are doing the Kia gears, as well as the Mazda gears as well. I found this old post, looks like it has lots of good information and even a few art numbers in it. Check it out!

SnoFlake and I have talked about this before, but $306 is still a lower price than either of us could get from the Mazda catalog.

okay guys I talked to HXMan and he got the 4.77's from kia and installed by hardtopguy, the part number is 0k014-27-110 I got them from the local kia dealership for $360. I told them a 1995 Kia Sportage, and its the front differential...I believe its a 7 inch ring gear, 43 teeth on the ring gear, 9 teeth on the pinion.

They should be here by monday so I'll be able to verify that it is correct, although HXMan swears up and down those are the exact gears in his car..
