Anyone Driven a Car Equiped with the ATS 3,4,5 gears?
well I am looking to buy the ATS close 3,4,5 gears for my ITR. i already run a JDM 4.785. and I know that by getting these gears my topspeed will be 120mph, and at 70mph my rpm will be 5000. and i dont care about the gas milage
but i am looking for people that have driven them either on the street or on the track. what do you think about them. my car will mainly be street.
thanks for any input you give.

I am running the ATS 1-2-3-4-5. I used to run it with a 4.785 FD but I only hit 210km/h at 9500rpm . Since I need more top speed for my application so I replaced it back to 4.4 FD.
i'm sure there's some "mid ranges road race stunnas" around here that can probably answer your question.
but hey mike.. since you're gonna yank the entire trans apart anyway.. just sell the 4.7 and get a 4.9.. you'll notice a huge difference.

I didn't drive one, but I rode in one. Does that count?
That car was heavily modified (with 4.4FD tho) so I couldn't really tell if it was the ATS gears or the high compression that makes the rpm raised rocket fast. Regardless, the rpm drops were very little compare to stock gearing. Between 2-3, 3-4, 4-5 shifts, the rpm drops were very little. I couldn't see too well from the passenger side so I can't tell you exactly how much rpm it dropped. But it defintely was very little compare to stock.

no one has driven a car with the gears. all you road race-sutox ****'s.

no need to put money into something when there are other areas that can be improved.

With the 4.785 FD , the rpm are CRAZY !!! Just like driving a high torque sedan. It just rev way too fast but for small circuit or Auto-X (which you don't need a lot of topsepeed) it will be a pretty good setup.
does anyone know the prices for the various ATS gearsets (fd, 3/4/5, and 1/2) ?
check out their web page http://racingcraft.com/ats-products.shtml they have good prices
mike, quittin ripping apart that car, the M3 is coming anyway in a month. stick some money into that heavy bastard and get it up around 300 whp or so.
