Motor Mount Insert Question for H23 vs. H22A4
Looks like this weekend I am finally getting to swap out my H23 for a newly rebuilt H22A4. I compared the motor mounts for both engines and for the most part they look identical, except for maybe one additional mount for the H22A4, along with a differently shaped mount used for the H22A4.
Question is this:
-I am pretty sure I just need to order the mount inserts for the H23, but are there any issues with not using the H22A4 mounts? I think I have 3 of the 4 H22A4 brackets that mount to the engine, but almost positive I can just use the H23 brackets and buy the H23 inserts (polyurethane inserts from ebay)......clarification please??

I have done the h23a1 to h22a4 swap on my 93 lude. I reused all the h23 mounts and used H23 motor mounts inserts.
Good luck with your swap

I like the way that the engine doesnt move at all when going off and on the throttle, and theres no wheel hop at all either.
I do not like how much vibration it transfers to the body and interior. Everything is rattling apart. If i were to do it again i might leave out the rear mount insert.

good to know! At least I can order the inserts now. Yeah I guess the rear insert would transfer the most vibration since it is closest to the cabin.....
might look at my rear mount and make the determination afterI inspect it.

Ok, so this thread is kinda old but have one more question.
The description that came along with the inserts implies that they will work with the OEM mounts/inserts.... Do you have to cut the inserts to get them to fit, because the inserts do not seem to line up exactly with the OEM.
Are you supposed to scrape out the old rubber or just cut to fit?
Thanks
