I have a 89 sedan and after i got my mpfi done my car has a real weird sound. When my car is idleing or when i shut it off it sounds like a boat horn. I have never heard a car sound like this in my life. It just got to me last night.

PS Its louder than hell.

 

i dont think its possible for an engine to make that kinda sound.
i could be wrong though.

 

It's your intake taking its last breath before the engine shuts down... Take a look at your intake.

 

did you replace the intake gasket?
could have a little intake gasket leak and make a whistle

 

it does it while its running at idle. Yea it has a new gasket as well. When it idles down it does and when i shut my car off it does it real loud. Its not the normal intake sound it sounds like a boat horn.

 

It sounds like when you blow into the top of a glass bottle just really really loud.

 

That's weird as ****! I have no idea what it is that's just strange. You should leave it and pull up behind people on the sidewalk and turn your car off!

 

When you turn off the ignition, you’ll probably hear the intake suck the last breath, so it’s something to do with the intake.

 

Yea the intake does do that but this sound is something else. I have talked to people and they have never heard anything like it. I have looked on the internet as well and nobody has had the same sound come from there motor before. Ill see if there is a camera that i can use and post a vid tomarow of what it sounds like.
