Default How is an intake supposed to sound? (before reving)

My cousin and i just bought Fujita intakes (my cousin- 03? scion xb, me- 05 accord. He insatlled his, but i havent yet. I heard his intake and i i become a lil worried how mine would come out. His intake doesnt sound like what i expected. It sounds like metal grinding. its hard to describe, but he said its all the air being sucked in, but i expected a deeper tone. maybe its because he has a scion, and i have an accord.

Can anyone take this worry away?

I forgot to add that the sound i described is when the car is just parked/idle. i couldnt really hear it when he rev'd it up cuz after 3500 rpms it stalls..he needs to get it checked.

I've never heard an intake sound lilke metal grinding (Probably installed incorrectly). It also depends on the type of intake, short rams and cai's can have huge sound differences.

it's because he installed it wrong. if it stalls after 3500rpm dat has something to do with air sensors and possibly placing the hoses in the wrong spots.

well probably it is installed wrong, but how is it supposed to sound when you are not reving? Thinking about it, it sounded like a vacuum sucking really hard and for some reason it sounded like metal grinding. I might have hearing problems but it just didnt sound normal when it was idle. I have seen youtube vids on intakes and i dont know what to here for. I cant tell if it sounds good or not.
