Default New to the world of honda

hey im new to the honda scene because i recently got a 1993 civic....there is 2 things wrong with it at least to me....its a 4 door .......and its automatic im pretty sure its only temporary until i sell it for a hatch but if not i was wondering about modding the engine its a new motor the guy i bought it from just put it in its a d16 (y7 i beleive ill check when i officially get the car on wenesday) and again its automatic but since i spent all my time around nissans i have no clue on wut is possible or the potential of the motor and i was wondering if there is any better engine swaps out there like maybe a DOHC that is automatic.... any help to a honda noob would be appreciated thanks

If you're going to go DOHC, there are autos, but just convert to manual at the same time. The d16y7 isn't exactly a power house but you can do a mini-me swap to get vtec. I'd try to stick it out for a hatch, personally. Good luck,

Just pick out your engine and find an auto tranny and all the junk for it to match it up. There are auto b series stuff, but I assume (just like a manual swap) you'll need to replace the auto shifter assembly, axels, ecu, blah blah blah.

I think you can do an automatic Integra LS swap.

It's Called a B18B it's DOHC and it's non vtec. A lil more fun than your little d series engine, not that hard of a swap and reasonably priced.
