Are blue corner lights legal? (in NY)
I recently replaced the stock clear bulbs in my corner lights (not in the orange part but in the clear part) with some aftermarket blue bulbs. On the package, one of the applications shown was corner lights. So I was wondering can I get pulled over for this? By the way, I'm in NY. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the quick response. I've been driving for around a month like this (past a lot of cops too) and so far so good. I thinks this can be explained by me living in a relatively small town (Ithaca NY, home of Cornell and IC) and University police have better things to do. Ithaca has its share of 'tuner' cars, but we don't have any problems with street racing like socal.

I don't know if it is different in Canada but only snow plows can have the blue lights and volunteer firefighter is green.

Ya its different...
Save yourself the money and trouble of a ticket by just buying clear bulbs.

if you can get your hands on whatever guidelines the state inspectors use, that should give you a pretty good idea of what's legal and what's not.
Yeah, I was thinking about doing that. I guess I just bought the blue ones because this is a big fad in Russia right now, and seeing as how I am Russian, and I read Russian car mags all the time, I just thought it would be cool to try something different. What's ironic is that I just found out that in Moscow, you can get your license suspended for 6mos for having those blue bulbs.
i actually got pulled over for speeding...cop had me turn on my hazards...all of my bulbs are hyper white (bluish tint) and he didnt give a **** (this is in chicago)
maybe in NY its diff but i doubt it..just dont have the fast blinker and u should be ok

blue? you can get a ticket for almost anything under the sun for that, including impersonating an officer if you **** the guy off enough.
ny cops have a hard on for imports. your just asking for it with that.

i would stick with either the stockers or amber bulbs if you want to play it safe. As for getting pulled over for them it really depends on how dig a ***** the cop wants to be. ive seen people get 75 dollar tickets for having there graduation tassels hangin from the rear view because it was obstructing thier view of the road.
I guess you could consider my car "rice," but I wouldn't really care. Back when I was into the whole 'tuner' thing I bought a muffler tip (rusted to **** now), an accord lip (just another nuisance), and even an SiR sticker. Later on I just stopped caring. Now I just keep it maintained (fix rust evey year, engine maintenance), and I just thought it would be fun to put in some different colored corner bulbs (maybe garner some attention from the laydays at the HS that I go to).
