Ownd by the snow
so im driving to palmdale, next thing i know im on the freeway spinning out. To make a long story short i crashed. Good thing i only took out the fender. Now my question is how in the hell do i get the car to stick to the road. i though of chains for the snow but i dont really know how efficiant that would be. so if you guys have any suggestions that be great.
palmdale snow? man so-cal is having the worst weekened ever for weather.
uh traction wise the cable chains that go on real tight to the wheels. they don't bang around like normal tire chains and the provide good traction.

The owners manual recomends not using chains on the car at all.

that sucks man I'm heading over to palmdale today...my cousin told me to be careful on the road cuz of all the snow....socal is having a waive of bad weather
Haha its so funny to see cali people try to drive in the snow...they can't even drive in the rain
Its really simple, but its all about being smooth. On summer tires, its super dangerous unless you are being super super careful.

Or at all?
How often does it snow in Palmdale? If it's only every other year or something, I see no point in wasting money and garage space on snow tires. I just got caught in a sleet/ice storm the other day (it was supposed to have been 60 degrees/clear that day, so I decided to take her out. Stupid weather channel.) With about 3-4 inches of snow/sleet piling up, the S did pretty well--especially with summer tires. I did get twitchy a few times, but nothing that I couldn't handle. But I guess I'm used to driving in snow and you're not.
Just drive nice and slow, leave some good distance from the car in front (especially at stop lights) and try to take side streets, if the highways are not plowed.

man i will never drive my s2 in the snow. i have to get another fender an the aligment done. im even thinking about saving some money to get another car. i use the s2 as a daily drive and i much as i love it i always worry about it.
Save yourself the head ache and store it for the winter! I was doing 25mph and snow was just starting to stick to road when two cars past me at 50 or so and their wind caused me to spin out. If you have to drive it get Blizzaks.
These kinds of topics drive me absolutely nuts. The stock S2000 tires are horrible in heavy rain or snow. If you want to drive in either, get new tires.
With snow tires, the S2000 is a very good snow/winter car. I have driven mine daily in 5+ inches of snow.

kinda off topic, but last night in Minnesota it was one of the worst snow/rain/ice storms in quite some time and I saw a brand new viper driving in it
Now I would like to know the kinda traction problems he was having HAHA

i saw a mustang the older 5.0 ones, sit there in the road an spin his tier's for about 15min before he actually grip. I was never so happy to get back to LA. expletive Snow i ll leave that for AWD cars. **** i like in LA that why I drive an S2000. If i leaved in palmdale i would probably drive a WRX or EVO. but its not at the shop so its cool. the only thing that bugs me if the fact that now the suspension makes a clicking sound when i go over bumps. I wonder if its cause it get cold or i fucked up something. Do you guys ever have that issue.

My wife's AP1 sits almost all winter. AWD>FR in the snow.
