Default FYI - Crush Bent vs Mandrel Bent Tubing

I built a mandrel bent prototype cat back system on Saturday which turned out to be too loud for my tastes. I used 2-1/2" aluminized mandrel bends to keep the cost down and I took this picture of one of the mandrel bent 90s compared to a crush bent 90. The crush bent looses about .3" in diameter in the middle of the bend.

Is there a great significant loss of power with crush bent?

Thank you very nice,

Now when are you going to sell your setups welded? I'm still waiting for the right time to purchase and the only thing that makes Johns system more appealing is for the ease of installation. I don't have many repitible shops, "if any" near me who I trust to do a good TIG welding job and/or installation and I have been investigating. The local exhaust shops are all shoemakers and I'd hate it if they did a sh*tty job installing your setup. the race shop I deal with is just too busy to do the welding of the full system at this part of the season. I'd just get it and install it myself.

Catback exhaust is one of the last things I plan before tuning. I achieved 172 HP and 127 TQ last time with just I/H&HF cat. I'm very interested your and Johns exhaust setups.

What were you doing with your pipes in the past? Buying them already mandrel bent?

Thanks for illustrating the difference, I've seen it before but, that does really show the difference.

A.
