Cam gears cause cel?
I have 96 prelude (obd2), i put in adjustable cam gears and set them at +1, 0 and now I'm getting a check engine light, cel 9, which is CYP sensor. I didn't adjust the exhaust cam b/c that's on the distributor side and I knew that would throw a cel so I only changed the intake cam setting. Is changing the gear settings the cause for the cel? Is it not possible to run adjustable cam gears on an obd2 car without throwing a cel? What are some other possible causes for code 9 besides a defective CYP sensor or circuit?
Also, my tuner said that on adjustable cam gears each mark equals 2 degrees, so if I advanced the intake cam 1 mark I'm actually advancing it by 2 degrees right?. Just making sure this is true. I know there's tons of people here that have adj. cam gears on their 5th gens so does any1 have any input?
