Default Unfriendly front lip install...

...so nobody really carries a 92/93 Accord front lip that I could find....eBay it was. I found just 2 or 3 companies selling 90-93 front lips. All adverstised 90-93. Man were they wrong.

Once I recieved it; it said 90-91, a bag of bolts/washers/nuts came with it, and no instructions. Not even an even number of washers, bolts, and nuts. Like a lazy worker grabbed a hand full and tossed them in a bag.

I just got to install it today. I didn't wanna go on my 92 at all. The first middle 3 bolts went on easy. Everything sucked from there after. Nothing lined up. ABS plastic doesn't like to bend that much either.

Here's what I got so far...

... it's got about 75% of the bolts in place.

Did you guys have any issues with your front lip installs?

If you had to bend it to get it on. It might develop cracks later on. I would try to mount it in the shape it wants to be in (as little bending as possible). Or send it back.

I'm hoping for warmer weather in Seattle soon (rain, snow, lightening, thunder ... all in one day) so I can have time to take off the entire bumper and redo the install. My hands were frozen with what I got done in about 20 min.

Well, we had a mis-labeled Mugen Lip story come thru here a short time ago. Seems the box labeled '94/'95 actually held a '96/'97 Lip. Those mounting holes didn't line up either.
I don't want this thread to degrade into a testimonial of EBay Purchases Gone Bad; but I will say this.
It happens way too often. Obsolete parts, Mis-boxed items, Mis-representations and even used items sold as new.

Buyer beware

That's eBay though.

But 9 out of 10 90-91 lips fit 92-93. So I knew the risk. I just happen to the 1 of 10 that didn't work properly.

Yeh, I know; and you have my sincere prayers that (if you decide to) you'll be allowed to exchange it for the correct piece (If it exists).
Good luck in your endeavors

i know this might be a little off topic, but how many inches are the ad on lips for the 96-97 accord (mugen lips from ebay). i want to know because before lowering my car i want to put the lip on so i can measure how low it would be, so i wont have to worry about scraping my lip

it says 90-91 but the fitment for the 92-93 bumper is pretty damn close
