ok i bought these mugen mr5's and the valve stem just cracked in half and shot at my face, bloody nose damned mugens.

well my question is does anyone know what kinda valve stem this is and where i can get one. i went to about 6 different tires stores including pep boys, super autobacs, discount tire, etc i even went to inline four and some other places. they're metal valve stems but they have to be ordered and it takes 6 weeeks. i cant wait that long. anyone help please?

Did you talk to any of the employees at all those tire places went to and ask them if there was a suitable replacement? Perhaps something they had in stock?

 

umm yea, i asked inline four they said its a discontinued half diameter metal valve stem
i have no idea where im going to find that. i think that's what he said but its going to take 6 weeks to order. damn!
just trying to find it anywhere else

i don't see how regular metal valve stems wouldn't fit in your valve stem bore. any other metal valve stem should fit wheter their off an enkei wheel or not. How did it shot at your face? The only way I can picture it shooting at your face is if the nuts that clamp the stem on the rim comes loose.

 

well here's the deal they are jdm wheels and like i said the regular ones dont fit. i even tried superautobacs and inline four and numerous tire stores. all have told me the same thing, they dont have one small enough to fit into the hole.

well someone was kind enough to tell me that it is a .23" diameter so that helps. the regular ones are .45 and above. iordered them from inline four but its going to take 4 weeks. gay

the valve stems were extremely old anyways as are the rims, im guessing it just decided to give way, it cracked in half , get my drift, and the pressure from the tire caused it to shoot up. it hurt nonetheless and i have the valve stem out now as proof.

so thanks anyone who tried to help, if anyone knows where i can find one sooner than please let me know thanks guys

 

oh i see, well hope you find your stems so you can mount those jdm wheel asap

 

take the valve stem out and bring it to performance plus in long beach.. they have good stuff.. i had to get new stems for my m7s and they had them

just fixed my jdm front too, bastard old man hit me. i almost cried. not how it was before but still nice.

 

Joon Joon i love u man!!! they had the valve stem but only problem is i came when they were closing so i went somewhere else that charged flipping 15 bucks just to put it on.

rims are stil not on, im mad. they got the valve stem on after breakin one, had to give them my other back up. then he tells me i need new ttires. i said i just want that one back on, then i come back and he tells me there's a hole in the sidewall so i need new tires.

M*&^%$ F%^456ER! there wasnt one before. damn it those were good tires too, like 60% on some potenzas. now i really need new tires before i get all my mugen's on.

told u they got them... and they're like less than 10bucks.. that sucks that they f'ed up ur tires..
