he just wants a new short block pre built if possible..where can i get one?

and as for a fixing the car itself what would be the cheapest route?

he got the car through e bay from the northern va area.. the car is sweet and well worth what he paid..

dyno numbers were nice..497hp with 391 ft lbs of tqe

its sitting now i will post pics soon.. to tell you the truth i dont know where to start.

Before he even thinks about getting a new shortblock he needs to figure out what happened. Because most likely, the same thing is just going to happen to his new one.

But maybe the guy who sold it to him knew it was on its last leg and thats why he sold it. Who knows.

A search will get you some info on pre-built H22's.

hrmm interesting. another #3 rod thrown. ive heard more stories of that rod snapping... a friend of mine once told me that when honda did there stress tests on stock oilers, it was always the #3 squirter that wouldnt put out as much oil as needed, and that rod bearing was the one that failed first. who knows if he got it from the back of a mag. or from someone who actually knows.
all i can say is its interesting that ive seen more and more of the same with #3 and not the other rods
.

That's my guess. Was he running the 7/16th bolts or 3/8s?

Cylinder #3 always runs the hottest because of the firing order of our engines, 1,3,4,2.

If he is interested, I am selling an 88mm darton sleeved MID h23a block. He could go h23vtec and make a little bit more power on his next set-up.
