Flushing/Cleaning out/Preparing Gearbox(Tranny)
I have a gearbox which I will be using on a swap.
It was drained & cleaned out before I got it, which was about 18months ago and it has just sat in my garage since.
I will hopefully be doing the swap soon so I want to make sure the gearbox is in good nick for it.
Is there anything I should do before its bolted up to the engine?
I cant go putting transmission fluid in before its bolted to the engine, or can I?

Plug up the axle seals, pout in the MTF, and turn the transmission over so that the MTF gets to all the bearings on the shafts and clutch housing. That will keep the bearings from being dry run on the initial start-up.
Drain the fluid out through the drain hole and then install the transmission.

Thanks.
When you say "Plug up the axle seals", I presume you just mean the slots where the driveshafts/axles are inserted?
