ALARM Install - Need Some Help - Ignition Wire Colors/ Parking Light Color / Stock Door Pin Q
I started installing a Fusion F-2000 alarm into my car today. Just in the last few mintures I did what I could and made note of the questions I was gonna have.
This is just a basic alarm it seems, comes with a shock sensor and an engine diasable and Im hooking up some pin switches
I got the brain installed way way up there, out of sight almost on your back with the pedals pushed down, and I mounted the wiren in a discreet location in the engine bay
The problem I have is wiring, Im not very good at it and Ive never done it. I guess I should mention this car is an 88 Crx Si, no power windows or locks, dont want em dont need em.
First problem, wiring up some pin switches. My car comes with these little mechanisms in the doors, look like little L brackets and they get pushed back when the door touches them. I was hoping I could use these (one on each door) instead of installing the real pin switches. They are only connected by a GREEN/RED wire Will they work? i'll post a diagram down a bit on how they are said to be wired
I do have a pin switch that I mounted in the hood, its a standard one I think, pushed down on the top and the bottom lowers, I dont get how the connection is interupted though since the whole thing is metal. Heres how they say to wire it up. This is where Im lost, as each pin on the doors has only 1 wire

Second Problem, The engine disable relay and its wiring. I guess i'll make a diagram for that to
I dont know what wires ont eh crx Im supposed to be tapping into or even whats going on really in this diagram, ive never once before wired a relay so i will need some help. This is the ecact way its pictured in the diagram. You can see how the relay looks in the top right, but the one I got herelooks different, turn it around and youve got 4 wires, 3 on the bottom row (orange, thick red, green) and 1 on the top row (thick red)

So yeah Im lost there someone please help me
Last Question now before I shower
It came with a shock sensor, plugs into the main unit with about 20" of wiring, where do I mount this guy? I was thinking right on the drivers kickpanel but will that area feel any shock? It has a sensitivity adjustment thing to
Thanks guys. I seriously need some help as you can tell, if someone helps me I would greatly appreciate it.

I installed my own alarm and so I know what you're going thru. Yes, use the stock door and hatch switches. There is no factory switch for the hood but you can install one if you'd like, just splice it in with the door/hatch switches. I had trouble finding them but with a test light, I was able to pull it off. It's only one wire because the switches are ground activated and on the chassis ground already. Closing the door or hatch, opens the circuit and vice versa.
For the starter kill you need a CRX wiring chart that tells what color it is. I have one somewhere but don't know where it is. From the top of my head, I believe one is solid white, yellow, etc...they are thicker than the rest and run from the ignition switch.
Mount the shock sensor away from the electronics like instrument cluster/ECU, etc. Mount it to something solid like the center support.
Have fun.

Why did you have to search to find the wires on the door triggers? I just popped back my rear body panel and you can see the single wire coming from the dorr trigger on each side. Do you just tap into it? like run the wire from the alarm control box and splice into the wire and thats it? Whats all the other **** on the diagram?
I just installed my own hood switch, just a stadard metal one I think that depresses down, what do i run for it?
I guess I'll be searchin hard for the ignition colours and parking lights
**** is difficult, saves me a lot of money and peace of mind knowing I am the only one who knows how ***** run

Well the wiring for the door and hatch runs forward under the dash so it's easier to just splice there instead of at the door switch...get it? Yes you just tap into it. The diagram shows both Postive and negative triggered setups...yours is negative.
As for the hood switch, you want it to be normally closed w/hood open and open when hood is closed, just like the doors. Then you can splice it in as if it were another door.
Luckily i found the wiring schematic. Check your PM's.
Take your time and go over the connections. BTW, get some power door locks, they are worth it.

What do you mean by my setup is negative? Im trying to see in my car where these wires that use the trigger go to but I cant trace it. Im not using a trunk trigger, just the doors and the hood.
I dont understand the hood switch yet, I dont get how its activated since its all metal, what causes the alarm to sense a change in anything? I dont understand how to wire it though, just tap fomr the same wires as for the doors..... if I can find it
Im sorry im knew to this, ive never once done wiring, but hey, you gotta learn
Thanks so far

Yeah I kidna figured it out, this replay kinda clipped apart and I can see what number on the relay is for what number. Heres what i dont get, the connections. It says to run the yellow wire from the alarm (+ignition) to the ingnition on wire in my steering column and then to number 86 on the relay (green)
You can see in the pic I showed how its done actually, am I just splicing into the "ignition on wire" in my column or am I supposed to cut the actual wire
Hard to explain

This is the last wire to this alarm and I dont get it. i dont get if I have to cut this wire or just splice 2 wires into it.
Only thing I dont get now is the + ignition input
It comes from my alarm as a yellow wire and goes to my ignition on wire in my steering colum (black/yellow), check the diagram on what im talking about am i just tapping into this black/yellow wire with the yellow from the alarm box and then going from the ignition wire to the orange #86 wire on the relay?
I never cut the ignition on wire correct? Also wtf are the rings from 85 to 86?

So yeah Im lost there someone please help me

The rings from 85-86 are the turns of the relay coil which create a magnetic field to connect the contacts between the input such as door, hood, hatch and the alarm's input pin. As for the ignition, most alarms with ignition kill will need you cut the starter wire Blk/Yell at the steering column and hook both end to a relay system usually come with the alarm. As for the hood pin, it's not all metal. If you push the pin down, you will see the other end is some kind of plastic and when the pin is pushed down, that parted out the connection. When the pin is not pushed (the hood is opened) the bottom part will go back up and close the circuit and send ground sense to the alarm. HOpe this would help. Anything else, I would gladly to help, just P'm me.

COrrection above, the wire that need to be cut is BLACK/WHITE, not black/yellow as mention. I was in a hurry and didn't check back at the wiring diagram. And yes, you need to cut this wire to creat the starter kill circuit. Otherwise, anyone can still start and drive your car with the alarm going off.
As for the ignition on wire, like you mentioned above, no need to cut it, just tap into it, just exactly like your diagram.

you can open up the steering column cover and use the wire in the plug that plugs into the combination switch. This is the case you can't find the parking light wire. But, it's not that hard to find the wire in the kick panel. Good luck. Let me know if there's anything else.
Open up steering cover and take out the fuse cover panel also. This will give you more room to work with. And then dig in, take out the old factory wire looms and tapes if you have to. The parking wire is in there. I can't tell you exactly where it at as of now, I dont want to go through all the wiring nightmare again. You of all person should know why, lol. But, be patient. If you can't find the parking light wire there, run a wire to the front corner light and hook it in there, that'll work.
you never cut the ingnition wire.
the starter wire is the only wire you cut.
the red with black stripe is positive parking lights, its all over the damn car.
how could you not see it? its on the dimmer switch, cluster, anything on the dash that lights up.

go to the fuse panel....there is a row of male blades on the top...one of these
is your park light circuit. Its probably the easiest place to get to...just not the
best for security.
Have fun

LOL...I wish I had a pic to post. If you look at your fuse panel...along the top
(I had to look at my car)..this is the inside fuse panel under the steering wheel. You need a test light or a multimeter. The are open posts in the panel
with male pins that look sorta like this: /=\ . There won't be any colors in the area. What you are going to do is test the circuits. One will be 12v,ign,park lights.
