bumper lenses
First off, I am reffering to the lights below the headlights.
Well, I had the bright idea of trying to switch the bumper lense lights so the one on the front of the car would turn on with the headlights and the side would just assume the responsibilities of blinking. So I just finished soldering the driver side ones and it was a failure. I cut and switched the wires right behind the light brackets(so I wouldn't have to take my bumper off). Now the front bulb doesn't recieve any current to the wire, but the side bulb worked and blinks. When I use my turn signal, the indicator light on the inside of the car blinks faster than normal, meaning the car thinks that I have a dead lightbulb. I checked the bulbs and fuses, all fine. Any other ideas? Relay?
Thanks for the help

check if you have current to the light (12V) with a test light. if you do, check if you have ground (by butting the test light alligator clip on the possitive side of the battery or known good 12v). I dont remember wich wire has ground or voltage but if you have bouth you might have a bad conneter of bolb. let me know whats up.
Okay, I really need to fix this today or it will severely alter my spring break plans. Any ideas? I was thinking replace the relay? I just don't know what would cause the wire itself to lose all current?!?!

tried the same thing, I think the resistance between the larger bulbs of the front blinkers and the smaller bulbs of the side blinkers is different, and trips something that will not let it work....? All I could think of because I wired them back stock and no problem....

Change your wires back to the way they came. Forget rewiring anything. Simple way to enjoy spring break :thumbup"
By the way. Gainsville, FL - lets see, high today is 84 degrees (must be nice) partly cloudy - the low is only 60 degrees. 0% chance of rain- unlike tomorrow. Enjoy your day man. Sunset is at 6:36pm ???? thats kinda gay. But whatever.

^^^ Yeah, I think you're right. I was thinking the same thing. Anyway, I put it back to the way it was and it works fine. I am kinda bummed it didn't work. I know people have done this before so if they would like to share their secrets, that would be nice.

Well, a similar thing is happening with me b/c I spliced my sidemarker to the outer bumper lenses so they would stay on all the time and blink when I'm signaling. It worked fine as a parking light but when I used the turn signal, the sidemarker didn't blink, it just got dimmer and brighter and then went out. Are the sidemarker bulbs my problem? They came with the jdm fenders so I'm guessing they're single filament? If I used dual filament would it work? And when the sidemarker went out it also made my outer bumper lense go out too, I checked the current and there's none and I was hoping I might get some ideas from you guys because it's a similar problem but yall just went back to stock
i completely disconnected the power source in my corner lights and Y-d the power and ground from my outside blinker.......so when my lights are on my corner light and outside blinker light are on.....then when i hit the blinker........the corner light and outside signal flash at the same time......so my blinkers flash from the inside to the outside and all over again.........and when i hit my caution lights they all blink at the same time
Someone told me that I could get a Trailer Converter kit at PepBoys for about $30 and wire it to the front blinker/side markers so that when the parking lights are on the blinkers are on.....likewise, when the signal is turned on the front blinkers flash. The kit is made by Hopkins Towing Solutions. I purchased the 48925 model which comverts Independent Bulb Turn Signals to Common Bulb. I haven't wired it up yet.
i did something like that, but i have all four of them on and the corner ones blink when i put the turn signal...heres a picture of them on...

so basically my side markers, the corner headlights, and the corner bumper lights blink at the same time when i put the turn signal..COOL...

How did you wire it? I went to Autozone and purchased the trailer kit AND the 1157 Dual Filament Bulbs and sockets. I haven't done anything yet because it seems like I'll need more than just 15 minutes. I don't want to screw something up and have to purchase new blinker lenses.
