Default axle woes

in an attempt to drop my tranny tonight to replace my clutch...all i ended up with was a split pinky finger

a friend and i were on the passenger and driver side axle each, for atleast 45 minutes with prybars, hammers, rubber mallets, with no success. any thoughts? any tricks?

Had the same **** happen to me a few weeks ago. I took a normal slotted screw driver and hit it with a hammer into the gap between the axle and the tranny. Worked for me. Just get as far in as you can to get a good bite and so you dont mess anything up. Good luck

Use an Olympia pry bar and instead of applying a constant force, just give it a quick jab and that should get the job done. I removed my axle today and it worked
