Default idling to 3000 then 250 and so on. finally does after a little bit

yeah im just installing a b18b into a civic. anyways, there are alot of messed up things. i have a chipped p28 and loaded a stock ls bin. that ran like *** so i picked up a turbo ls bin just to idle and it runs better but idles from 3000-250sih and then dies. timing is all messed up. i cant read it when its moving. any ideas?

there is so many things that could be wrong bro, but it sounds like you might have a vaccum leak, or maybe you TB or airintake manifold my not be sitting right at the gasket and it pulling in air from there...give that a try..

dont think its a vacuum leak because im running -16 on the boost guage. also it cant be the gaskets because i have replaced them all. they are all sitting right when i did the rebuild

i forgot to mention that it goes to almost 0. i mean the motor pretty much dies to the point i cant hear it and then a second later it will rev to 3000

really sounds like a vaccum leak to me..recheck all your gaskets..just because you replaced them doesnt mean you maybe didnt make a little mistake somewhere

Can a friend make it idle by working the throttle? That way you can check the timing.

no it just idles on its own. even thoughi have the buterfly 1/4 open it ill still run down to 250rpm and then almost die.

question, this is a fresh rebuild and i was reading about the sensor that reads coolent temp and then once its hot the idle will drop? well if i can only run my car for about 10 second at a time its not getting very hot and when im feeding antifreeze through the rad what if the thermostate isnt even opening to let it through? i mean i might not even have any coolant in the IM? that might explain the sparatic idle?
