Is it difficult to swap in an OBD-1 motor into an OBD-II car?

Default Is it difficult to swap in an OBD-1 motor into an OBD-II car?

If things go good I may be doing a B18B swap into my 96 Civic. I will probably want Hondata since I will be sticking with the turbo, so can I just swap in an OBD-1 motor so I don't have to buy the damn $250 conversion harness (to use an OBD-1 ECU in an OBD-II car)?

OR, since I probably will not rebuild the motor, if I get a newer OBD-II motor, wouldn't it be just a little wire swapping at the ECU plug to get a OBD-II motor running on an OBD-1 ECU?

Any help is mucho appreciated guys. Thanx!

Obd2-to-OBd1 conversion harnesses in stock = 175 shipped in the 48 states.

96-00 Civics have a one piece engine harness.

You can't use the teg stuff

Just use your Civic harness and put it on the teg motor.

Swap the distributor and injectors with OBDII gear and then get the converter harness and you are good to go.

You will need the converter harness to use the Hondata since the Hondata ecu won't plug into the OBDII ecu plugs.
