on my way to work....
car: '99 GS-R, 64,XXX miles, BONE STOCK.
Problem:
i was on my way to work this morning, in 3rd i hit 4700rpm and my engine stopped making power... it bogged down to about 3300rpm, i took it out of gear, and pulled off the road within 10 seconds. the check engine light came on, and the oil indicator blinked. i was low as hell on oil, i added 2 1/4 quarts to get it back to normal. I bought the car two weeks ago, and they "changed the oil" when i bought it. the chk.eng. code was an air/fuel code that i already cleared. There is NO WAY i burned or leaked that oil... no smoke out of the exhaust, no oil spots in my garage or at my parking spot at work. Im just looking for everyones opinion on this, any help, comments or suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

Check your cat. The air / fuel problem could be directly related to the problem you had on the freeway. As far as the oil is concerned go back to the dealer and tell them.

true, a long time ago a buddy's cat got saturated with water(rusted and corroted the inside) and i guess one day he blew out his cat and the check eng. came on.
didnt do any harm. i actually think he maybe gained a little torque
also ive had problems with my gsr and oil. geting weird codes with vtec and ****.
just change oil everything will hopefully be ok
