07 JDM Integra and 07 TSX coupe 2.3 liter goodness
Word going around and reported on vtec.net, is that the 07 Integra in japan will most likely get the 2.3 liter turbo VTEC putting out 280-300hp. That means the TSX coupe that is rumored to replace the RSX would get the same motor probably detuned to about 20hp less than the JDM model. this would make a lot of sense. clearly that hp gap between the NA honda models has caught up and competitor models like the EVO, STI and even SRT-4 are a superior choice for most people.

Ok, I'll give in to my more gullible side. So if the new Integra/TSX were to get this 2.3-T engine with ~280-300 hp, any rumors on whether it will be AWD or RWD? No way they'd keep it FWD, right?

Subis and Mitsus might be closer to us, but we still lack 2 drive wheels

that could be true, or they might start switching things up. Personally im getting tired of the high revving no torque motors, my s2k is a prime example.

If all this happens then honda will complete stage 3 on world domination. (Stage 1: was destroying the US's "be american, drive american" view in the vehicle market. Stage 2: was dominating the hell out of the ricer/import/tuner or what have you scene. Stage 3: mass-produce a FI car that will sell crazy like water in the desert and pwn all in-class FI cars.

if Honda doesnt do this witht he integra tsx coupe, then theyre dropping the ball big time. Ill take a refine turboed 2.3 liter i vtec motor over a 2.2 liter 240 na motor thats pretty maxed out any day of the week. I bet this motor ends up in the integra or rsx or tsx, whatever honda decides they want to call it

Just because Honda hasnt done it (FI), doesnt mean they wont do it. Companies that dont change with the times get left behind and sell fewer cars, look at GM and Ford. I am not saying Honda is in the same boat, but they dont want to let Mitsu and Scooby dominate them as far as higher performance sport cars go. They know their bread is buttered with the Accord, but wouldnt Honda want to keep their cars "all in the family" with buyers if they can.
I know we will all have to wait and see, but saying Honda will never do FI is a really long time.
