Hmmmm. I was just at the dealership looking at a new Elise...I'll think I'll hold out. Just might have to import one of these if it goes to production
...and if I get get it into Hawaii in one piece.

Your probably right. This very well could turn out to be the worst '**** tease' Honda has ever pulled.

Tisk Tisk...
Tisk Tisk...
With the RDX in showrooms mid-summer, we should start seeing the true potential of the new 2.3L turbo powertrain.
IF Honda desides to go the FI route with the new ITR, which I highly doubt, 280bhp to the front wheels seems very uncharacteristic of Honda. I would much rather see a 250-270bhp N/A 2.2L K.

A 2.3 L Turbo Honda? Are we serious? Guys who are we kidding, until we see something that looks like official Honda, we can only take this as a inkling of a rumor at best. That would be so unconventional Honda... (big motor, fi, more power than its higher acura models) Not to mention 2.3 Turbo is not exactly a lightweight set up which would be pretty uncharacteristic of a continuation of the Civic / Integra series.

That would be a downgrade IMHO. The K20A is a much more capable motor than the F20C.

The Acura RDX crossover SUV is going to use a 2.3L Turbo. 2007 model, should be in showrooms by August.

Honda has a long history of doing the unconventional. Its what keeps them ahead of the game. Turbo engines, awd and diesel may be the way of the future for honda..

Hey if they want to stay competitive in the sports compact cars they have no choice. Look at say the Evo or the STI. I think Honda is just trying to stay competitive in an ever growing quest for power ...

Not only does the article mention that this release by Honda will be a re-worked RDX motor turbo'd, it also mentions that AWD will be standard in order to compete with Mitsu and Subi...
Wow, if only it was true, a Turbo'd AWD Type R.

Very true, we'll get stuck with the NA version or something.

I could see Honda doing this in order to stay competetive with the market right now. I mean it seems like almost every company in the sport compact market is going FI in the future or has gone FI already.
Like others said, just don't know about it coming to the U.S.A.
