3rd makes that sound only when im going fast... shifting at appo 7k

If you cant explain the sound how the hell are we supposed to help you?

Are you pushing the clutch in the whole way?
Are you sure it isnt grinding and you just dont wanna admit it?

Synchro's could be bad in your tranny.

hahah lol, I think im affaid of admitting it.

But really could be me shifting it in to fast

I do push the clutch all the way in. Only happens in 3, most likely its me shifting it to fast cuz when i take it out 2nd and i push it half way in 3 it makes the noise and just goes right in with no problem.

its hard to explan but ya... no biggie.

lol, crack me up how you ask if im affaid of admitting it.... that could be true.

good looking out though.

Hahaha, I knew it...

It sounds like your 3rd gear synchronizer dude....when they go bad they can act up for a WHILE before they actually completely **** out....and they make a quick grinding noise, then catch in gear.

Have it looked at though....tranny problems suck man I know how you feel.

well it's nto really yhard to test, wind it 500 RPM's into the redzone, and double clutch from 2nd to 3rd, or clutch it in, until it's fully against the floor, wait about 1/2 second, and put it in, see if it still makes the noise

Soundsl ike ur pulling the clutch too early while it's not in all the way or you're not pushing it early enough

is it like a metal clunk noise? thats what mine does going into third. Try changing tranny fluid. it will last awhile before it gives u any major problems

2nd to 3rd gears are notourious for grinding befor other gears at high RPMs.

i think its my shifting... when you normaly shift to 2nd and pull it out it goes in the middle/nuetural on its own... well I pull it right out of 2nd and lead it to 3 fast without it having to go to the middle spot..

What tranny are you using? I know in my Z6 tranny it would make a grinding noise but still go into 3rd gear. Tore it down and 3-4 gear shift fork was busted. Replaced the fork and 3 weeks later..broke again. Been drivin/racing it like that for bout 3k miles now

If you're grinding......you will know it.

Shifting should require no force. Just try shifting using one finger. It will be slower and less "aggressive" but it will make you a better driver. White knuckling the shifter is for video games.

I didn't mean a faster driver better one. Being gentle and have finess in everything you do makes your a better driver in my opinion. Obviously don't **** wtih one finger all the time. That's just to show you that it doesn't take much to shift but when shifting be smooth, gentle and plenty of finesss. Just my 2 cents.

Cheers.
