Default 96 accord auto trans can only be manually shifted

i have a 96 accord with v-6 and auto trans. if you put it in D it won't go ,but you can put it in 1 and shift up to D. when you stop you have to shift it again. is this an electric problem or what might it be.

Make sure you have fluid. It could be an accumulator problem. Bump again.

If it's a fluid level problem wouldn't it take a minute to engage after putting it in gear?

your **** is fried or you dont have enough fluid in your transmission. I highly doubt it would be a electrical problem

you need to drain the fluid and see if there is metal shavings in it. last time I had a car that did that (86 sable) it was due to the torque converter comming apart.
