Default 80mph feels like going 60mph

hi guys, when I am driving on the freeway my speedo shows 80mph 4,400rpm. but the problem is the car doesnt feels like it is going 80mph, because people still tailgating me, even when I raise it up to 90mph 4,900rpm, it still feel slow. when I drove my mr2 on the freeway, 80mph is really fast...you guys have any idea?

90 mph @ 5000 rpm sounds about right.

The ITR is very composed at high speed. 60 feels like an absolute crawl, while 80 still feels like you're not breaking any laws.

So true, it's really dangerous actually.

On a few occasionas I've been lucky and managed to keep it down just before a cop noticed me. It's amazing how easy the speedo creeps up to 80+ on the freeway.

really? Don't get me wrong,I definately feel the stability on freeway speeds in the R but find it's way easier to speed in my gf's Galant or rental cars because they're so damn quiet. It's so easy to keep accelerating in those POSes because they sound quieter than the itr at idle

Yes, mine is like that. I've gotten a couple of tickets. If I had to pick the speed that feels most comfortable to me, without looking at the speedometer, it's around 90-95mph. I have to make constant efforts to slow down, or I'll get into a lot of trouble.

You should try driving an E46 M3. 120 feels like 40.

maybe your vss is off. I had to replace my vss with a used one and now driven on the freeway in 5th gear at 4000 rpm the tack shows 80 mph which is wrong. My old vss used to show 70 mph at 4000 rpm in 5th gear.

Totally, at high speeds that thing is so quiet and stable.

I totally agree with that too. I was driving back from CMP and I thought I was doing near 80 when it was more like 110

maybe you're drinking and driving.
cuz when u're drunk everything feels so slow so you drive faster
you should consider smoking some GOOD chronic. so it will make you chill out and makes u drive slower
