Just got Falken Azenis...
Treadwear ratings only apply for one company against that same company. Say you have Falken Ziex vs. Falken Azenis then you can compare them. But if you are trying to compare those to the stock RE's based on treadwear you will not get a fair comparison based on the 200 number alone.
The only way to really test one compound as being softer than another is to use a durometer under controlled conditions (i.e. same place on tire, same weather conditions, same amount of use on each tire). A durometer gives you a relative number which can tell you that one compound is softer than another, is softer than another, so on and so forth.

Are these tires softer than stock Type R tires? What does 200 thread wear mean?

As mentioned, treadwear is tottally irrelvant between manufacturers, and probably pretty useless even within a manufacturer. My 160 treadwear pirellis are a LOT harder than my 200 treadwear azenis...and the azenis are rated that way partly for ST legality in solo 2 methinks...
I wanted to know about how many miles these tires last with normal driving.
