Default Cheap jdm power folding mirrors

Ok for those you like the JDM power folding mirrors listen up. those who don;t then shut the hell up and go somewhere else.

Most people want the 98+ style mirrors. however the 98+ power folding mirrors are like 300 dollars. For what? jsut a molded piece of plastic.

SOOOOO for those who hacve 98+ USDM mirrors. you can swap out exteriors with the older mirrors that are half the price. Password sells 94-97 style mirrors for only 169 with switch and relay.

I have yet to truly test this idea as dont have 98+ mirrors at all. I took apart my JDM power folding mirrors as a test to swap out my stock housings so I dont have to get anythign painted. and realized that the outer piece that has that rectangular moulding could prolly be swapped out.

pop out the mirror. Be careful when popping it out

You will need to remove the screws and the housing will separate.

this is the part I think you can swap out for the 98+ mirrors if you got them

did this on several accords...

on accords the coupe and sedans base are different you can interchange them.

i dont know if the acura base's are different between the 4 door and 2 doors.

not quite sure i understand the question...

i've swapped out the power folding mirrors ont he accords because i didnt want to spend the money on repainting mine personally... then my friend had a a set and i interchanged the bases with a coupe set just to test them out. and they work.

haven't done one on integra yet... but when i did it on the accord. theres a way to opt out of pulling th emirror out if its too difficult... get a long flat head screw driver and angle it in there and use the side at a 90 degree angle to take out all the screws.

Yes you can do this, keep in mind that to swap the triangular base pieces, you will have to de-pin the harness plug to get the harness through the hole in the base piece.

This is what I did when I bought 98+ mirrors for my car. The mirrors I received came off of a Phoneix Yellow ITR that was right-hand drive (UK or Aussie-spec I assume, they were not power folding). That won't work on a LHD car so I swapped the mirrors and housings over to the triangular bases from my car and it works great.

pop out the mirror cause you need to access the screws. unscrew the screws and the two halves will come apart.

Unscrew the three scews where the hinge is at the bottom of the mirror hinge.

remove the rubber seal/gasket on triangular base
un pin the harness in the triangular base

and then swap over your stock mirror housings.

Were you able to complete the swap? I need new mirrors since the base of my drivers side shakes like crazy since I think something is broken inside!

I thought we spoke about this before, didn't we???

Removal of Glass from mirror housing:

Mirror - Actual glass piece: JDM/USDM
-You have to use the USDM Glass piece on the JDM Black Plastic Panel. In other words, you need to seperate the glass from its plastic panel and swap them over.

So if I wanted the 96+ ridge style, all I have to do is swap the outer plastic part? Would this be the same for USDM ones where I can probably get them at the junkyard?
