Default if you had to go quiet

im thinking of switching back to a quiet exhaust system... i have narrowed my choices down to the Apexi World Sport or Greddy SP2 there is about $100 dollar difference in price shipped up to my neck of the woods.. $389 for the apexi and 489 for the greddy kit...

both look great and the only + side to one another is that the greddy kit is full stainless where as the world sport only has a stainless muffler...

anyhow i wanted to here some of your opinons on the two... i also thought about the thermal r&d turbo system... but from what i hear, it is a little on the loud side.. but anything is better than my b/c spec2 at this point

I believe the SP2 has a straight through muffler but I could be wrong.

With your modded motor wouldn't those exhausts you mentioned be restrictive? I'd try a Kteller exhaust. 2.5" mandrel bent piping with a 2.5" Magnaflow oval muffler. Will flow well and not be insanely loud..

ive been looking for a silencer for quite some time... if anyone can find me one for a reasonable price... ill get ya a finders fee

im not too worried about being restrictive at this point.. it wont be seeing the track or drag strip that much this summer.. and even with a restrictive exhaust.. i still have one of the highest whp n/a honda's up here in the great north

Unless the one I heard is different for some reason, these sound like ****. And they're not quiet, at all. Fujitsubo RM01A for an R is pretty quiet (NOT for an EG though, they apparently have one less resonator...). Dave at SMSP could also probably cook you up something quiet (which I'm planning on looking into myself, for the above-mentioned reason). In addition, either of the ones I listed should be pretty free-flowing, especially Dave's.

They usually sound like **** with a testpipe and or no resonator. I hate that sound.

I'd go for a Hytech TL if I wanted a quiet exhaust.

If you get 2.5" mandrel bent piping with a large resonator, like 22" and a Magnflow/ES oval muffler it won't be terribly loud...

HyTech TwinLoop, as previously mentioned.

Or 2.5" piping to a Comptech axleback.

Or Fujitsubo RM-01A, this is one of the more quiet "performance" exhausts out there.

I am also in the market for an exhaust, except I'm replacing stock exhaust. An exhaust that has caught my eye is the new apexi ws NOIR. They don't currently make it for the ITR. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by CRXtacy2006 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">RSR ex mag 2 is probably the quietest one besides stock that i know of.</TD></TR></TABLE>
this is the other exhaust I was looking at. But more then likely I will be saving up for a full hytech exhaust system with the TL. So I will basically be waiting for a while before I get an exhaust system.

My friend has a custom high flow cat with a Magnaflow oval muffler.
It's pretty quiet (on his 95 hatch)

I'd buy th Kteller exhaust I am selling. Fill 2.5" exhaust and designed to be quiet. It was the only exhaust I felt was a suitable replacement for the stock exhaust for performance and noise.

See my sig
